Huge congratulations are in order for our award winning groundsman Mark Hobley and team of supporting volunteers, who pour heart and soul into making our facilities they best they can be.

After every home league match, opposition teams score our pitch and outfield a mark out of 10.

In division 7a, both pitch (average mark 8.6) and outfield (8.8) came out on top, with several oppositions commenting on what a treat it is to play at the Meadow.

In 2b, the pitch (8.63) topped the table, finishing ahead of premier division clubs Welwyn, Potters Bar and Hertford, while the outfield (8.8) finished second behind Middlesex 1st class out-ground, Radlett.

If you see the hours and passion that Mark puts into his work, you may not be surprised. He consistently goes the extra mile to ensure that the ground is in best possible condition for our cricket. We owe him our grateful thanks and support (covers...) when help is needed.
