The visitors had the better of the conditions at The Meadow

Blanketed parents on the boundary may not have agreed that it felt like a win just to finally get a game on after a horrendous period of weather at the start of the season but nonetheless, it was great to see the U9s take to The Meadow on Sunday morning.

Bolstered by Adam, Josh and Frankie from the All Stars section (U8s), Northchurch batted first, and reached a respectable 265 from their 16 overs. Unfortunately, Chenies and Latimer's bowlers were on-song and took 11 wickets, reducing our tally to 210.

In the second innings, with conditions rapidly improving to favour the batters, the inexperienced Northchurch bowling attack did well to restrict Chenies to a run-a-ball, and took 4 wickets in the process. However, this was not enough to prevent the visitors from taking the points.

Thanks to David, Karima and Hayley for getting us organised and to the boys who stepped up from All Stars to get a side out. Onwards and upwards!
