Both Saturday XIs bag maximum points. The Sunday XI plays declaration cricket. Juniors fight bravely against our big town neighbours.

Twos remain unbeaten

The 2nd XI maintained its 100 percent record by overcoming St Albans 3rd XI on Saturday. Randall’s men we inserted on a very wet pitch and dug in to post what would be a winning score of 120. Contributions at the top of the order from Simon Wheeler and Jimmy Smart got the boys off to great start, with Matt Dawson and Ben Pyne contributing valuable runs down the order. Wickets were shared around as St Albans were bundled out for 60, with impressive catches from Noah and Ellis, who also both bowled well. Congratulations to Ellis on his first league wicket and the rest of the team for a clinical win.

1s group effort overcomes Letchworth at home

Charles Fidler claimed three key wickets as Northchurch restricted the visitors to 152 in a match reduced to 35 overs per side. In reply, Joel was impressive at the top of the order but Hobley and Romit remained composed to finish off a tight, final over chase. One notable contribution came from the captain, who finally won a toss. Match report.

Declaration cricket returns to the Meadow

The Sunday XI hosted the Stragglers of Asia on Sunday. With an opposition steeped in tradition, it was fitting that we played a declaration game. Stragglers batted first and made a teasing declaration on 205/7, leaving NCC 45 overs to chase them. A couple of the opposition were familiar to NCC, with Craig Suckling, Tom Vila and Harry B turning out for the Stragglers. This added a frisson of excitement, especially when Moon Wheeler smashed Harry out of the attack. The NCC Captain, Mike James, was familiar to the Stragglers too, as he’s a Straggler himself! Junior Matches

It was a rain affected week for the juniors, with Tuesday night and All Stars training getting washed out. Of the matches that did get played, the 13As and Bs faced off against Berkhamsted and the U10s against Hemel. Our big town neighbours proved too strong on all occasions, but there was much to be celebrated. Links to match reports below.

Friday Night BBQ

Friday 28 June sees our All Stars Programme come to a close. To celebrate the season, we’ll be handing out awards and having a bbq. All club members are welcome to come and have a bite to eat.
