Watford Observer match report here
It is worth noting that the Watford Observer match report does not quite convey the dominating position that Northchurch held in this match, before Ratnakumaran cut loose with his match winning 41 from 15 balls.
An excellent atmosphere in the field and superb bowling from OJ and JB had given Bullet's boys every confidence that they could restrict the Division 1 team. Credit must be given to the clean hitting of the number five, but perhaps more so to Mark Brazier for ensuring that his team took 30 from the last two overs under huge pressure.
It was a fantastic game and, even though Northchurch ended up on the wrong side of the result, the experience has no doubt made the team stronger and they will look forward to competing again next year.
The quality of the cricket played by the mid-week black caps does not happen by accident. A big thank you must go to all those who attended the matches to support, but most of all to Lee Johnson and Tom Garraway for getting us organised and leading us to great effect on the field.
