U14s B wrapped up a solid victory over Levvy, as Ben Painter writes

The great Shane Warne once commented that "Cricket is a simple game. Keep it simple and just go out and play."
Yesterday the U 14's did just this on a glorious evening, perfect for cricket and what we have missed over the last few months.

Dylan, leading the team, won the toss and Leverstock were put in to bat. It was now our bowlers took centre stage,Elliot and Aiden opened the bowling and kept the batsmen in check, limiting their openers to the occasional run.

Centre stage Sam who took the first wicket, bamboozaling the batsman into a poor shot which nestled in Marcus' hands.
Supported at the other end by Hugo with clever, efficient and effective bowling. George limiting the score agile and accurate. Ollie P fast and furious worrying the batsmen.

Proficient bowling saw a run out and a retirement due to good attacking play by a Leverstock Green batman.
Marcus rapid and his records show a caught and bowled, being supported by Jamie who was cool, calm and on target with a number of dot balls. Ollie entered the fray our enforcer, worrying the batsmen and with one ball deceiving a tailender into a poor shot which was snapped up by George.

Dylan multi-tasking completed the innings bowling a vibrant two over spell and limiting the runs scored.

Leverstock Green innings completed on 111 for 6 with a target of 112 in our sights.

Into bat and we were powerful, brilliant and brave.

Opening today were Elliot and Marcus and it was clear from the off they wanted an early finish. Runs flowed, a glorious six smashed by Elliot. Focused and determined, Marcus retired on 27 soon followed back to the pavilion by Elliot out lbw.

Dylan and Ollie P continued where the last pair finished off running down the target. Dylan being caught on 10 and Ollie P on 13.
Time for heroes and arriving at the crease Sam and Hugo. Determined with nerves of steel they saw us through to victory with the highlight being a huge six smashed in the direction of or supporters adjacent to the pavilion. Hugo completed the job in hand hitting the winning runs.
Disappointed for those who did not bat but this was a team performance.

Onwards to our next fixture and another chance to shine.

"No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it.
