Northchurch Under 12’s put in a great effort against Tring this morning in extremely hot conditions, producing an entertaining match full of wickets, determination and some excellent batting partnerships.

Tring batted first and posted a strong total of 300 runs, but Northchurch responded brilliantly with the ball, taking an impressive 8 wickets during the innings. There was some outstanding bowling throughout the team, with Sonny and Ollie especially catching the eye with superb spells in the heat.

The wickets were shared across the side, with contributions from Meade, George, Sonny, Oliver, Zac and Adam helping to keep Northchurch fighting hard throughout the innings.

In reply, Northchurch battled well and finished on 246 runs after another determined team performance. The standout batting partnership came from Zac and Shay, whose excellent 28-run partnership was the highest pair score of the morning.

It was also a special occasion for two new players making their Northchurch debuts, Shay and Effie, who both played their part superbly and should be very proud of their first appearances for the club.
