What a fantastic way to open the season! Today brought an amazing team performance full of energy, skill, and determination. It’s hard to believe some of these girls are brand new to the game!

In the field, the team showed great focus and enthusiasm. Zoe made an immediate impact with a sharp wicket, while Bella’s strong, reliable fielding helped keep the pressure on throughout. Izzy showed a keen awareness consistently backed up by her teammates, and the team worked brilliantly together, cutting off scoring opportunities and taking an amazing 6 wickets!

Captain Siân led from the front with a superb batting display, setting the tone early and giving the team real momentum. She was well supported by Athena, whose confident stroke play and well-timed boundaries kept the scoreboard ticking over nicely.

Thedara and Phoebe demonstrated brilliant game awareness, always alert to chances for quick singles and keeping the opposition on their toes. Poppy and Grace impressed with how quickly they adapted in the field, showing confidence in their play.

A special mention goes out to Emily for a truly memorable moment—her lightning-fast sprint and dramatic sliding stop right on the boundary line was a highlight of the match, saving runs and limiting the batters to just two.

In the end, Northchurch CC brought home a convincing win in the season opener with a final score of 272-230.
