Winning Starts and Local Derby Fever A review of a triumphant opening weekend for our girls and a look ahead to our clash with Berkhamsted.
Last Week’s Results
The 2026 cricket season at Northchurch CC launched with thrilling performances across all age groups, highlighting the "intent" our teams are striving for this year.
Under 11 Girls vs Redbourn CC Our Under 11 Girls opened their season with a fantastic and convincing 272-230 victory over Redbourn CC. Captain Siân led from the front with a superb batting display, well-supported by Athena, whose confident stroke play and well-timed boundaries kept the scoreboard ticking over. In the field, the team displayed great focus to take 6 wickets, with Zoe making an immediate impact with a sharp wicket. A standout moment was Emily's lightning-fast sprint and dramatic sliding stop on the boundary to save certain runs. Full match report here
1st XI vs Abbots Langley CC (Friendly) The 1st XI were involved in a high-scoring opener, posting 241-6 from 40 overs. Tom Garraway was the star, retiring after a spectacular century (106 off 60 balls), including 14 boundaries and 5 sixes. Despite a determined bowling effort from Ollie Thaker (2-35) and Harry Chapman (1-32), Abbots Langley secured a 6-wicket win on the penultimate ball. Full match report here
Under 15 Boys vs Leverstock Green CC The U15s showed great spirit at The Green, finishing just 14 runs short in their chase of 142. Max Galvin led the scoring with 26, while Henry Buckwell was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 wickets in a single over and assisting in a run-out. Full match report here

It is a packed week of cricket for the club, with junior and senior teams in action across the county.
The Highlight: Saturday Local Derby The biggest game of the week takes place this Saturday, 25th April, as we host the local derby against Berkhamsted CC. This highly anticipated 1st XI clash will be held at The Meadow with a 12:00 PM start. We hope to see a strong home crowd down at the club to support the boys!
